Please tell everyone your new title and a little bit about your professional background.
I am the new director of Nursing. I attended a Diploma nursing program back in Connecticut and I worked on med/surg and critical care units and IV team for 10 years. Following our move to Washington State, I returned to the beside on Oncology and Telemetry units, and IV team. I have spent the last 11 years teaching undergraduate BSN students in clinical and theory. I also worked as a staff development educator and new graduate residency coordinator
What drew you to apply to Green River?
The smaller campus and relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
On the car ride to work, what do you listen to?
Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, and Yo Yo Ma
What was the very first job you ever had?
I worked on a shade tobacco farm during the summer planting and sewing the leaves.
What about your new position is most exciting for you?
Working with the diverse student population on campus.
What is one thing you’d love to accomplish in your first year at Green River?
Launching of the LPN-BSN program.
What three accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?
Raising my children, completing two degrees and now pursuing my doctorate, and nurse camp
If your coworkers were to give you an office nickname, what would that be?
Early bird, because I am almost always the first one in the office.
