New Employee Spotlight – Aaron Casad

We’d like to take a moment and recognize our newest employees to Green River. Please take a moment to learn more about them, in their own words.

Please tell everyone your new title and a little bit about your professional background.

I am one of the Program Coordinators in the Assessment and Testing Center. I have a professional background in information technology and administrative management.

What drew you to apply to Green River?

I have always loved being apart of Green River’s community whether that be when I was here as a student and when I worked here part time. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work at Green River as a full time employee!

On the car ride to work, what do you listen to?

I listen to all different types of music but I usually listen to the radio which consists of 106.1, 92.5, and 93.3 FM.

What was the very first job you ever had?

The first job I ever had was while I was in high school and I was a catering assistant at Longhorn Barbecue.

What about your new position is most exciting for you?

I get to interact with new and current student’s everyday and help anybody on campus with any testing needs!

What is one thing you’d love to accomplish in your first year at Green River?

Bring a positive and relaxed environment for any and all testers in the testing center!

What three accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?

  • Graduating Green River College with my Associate Arts Degree
  • Graduating from Central Washington University with my Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Getting a job at Green River College fulltime!!!

If your coworkers were to give you an office nickname, what would that be?

Griz as in Grizzly because I’m a grown up teddy bear!

For Green River’s annual talent show (this doesn’t actually exist), what hidden talent would you showcase for everyone?

Building a computer or making banana bread!

If G.R.E.E.N. were an acronym for something, what would each letter stand for?
