New Employee Spotlight – Jingzhu Guo

We’d like to take a moment and recognize our newest employees to Green River. Please take a moment to learn more about them, in their own words.
Guo, Jingzhu2
Please tell everyone your new title and a little bit about your professional background.

My new title is Program Specialist 2. I would be engaged in two main roles. For part of the year (STP – 20%) I would be the key activity and event planner for visiting international students, which are here for just a short while. For the other part of the year (Housing – 80%) my focus would be on the International Student Housing Program. Duties would include consulting with students regarding their housing choices, interviewing host families and home visits, facilitating move-in, tracking, coordination, and attending host family meetings.

What drew you to apply to Green River?
I immigrated to the U.S from China 5 years ago. I graduated from Green River College in 2013. I got lots of help and support from instructors and other staff. Now I want to pay back and help other students.

On the car ride to work, what do you listen to?
I like to listen to Spirit 105.3, which is a Christian music radio.

What was the very first job you ever had?
My very first job was an employee in an international travel agency in Beijing, China.
