We’d like to take a moment and recognize our newest employees to Green River. Please take a moment to learn more about them, in their own words.
Please tell everyone your new title and a little bit about your professional background.
- I was an automotive technician for GM/Saturn after Graduating from Green River with my AAS in Automotive.
- For the last 11 years I have been teaching automotive at Kentlake High School.
What drew you to apply to Green River?
As a student I attended Green River. And I knew they had an excellent automotive program. For the last 5 ½ years I have been teaching night classes, and knew when the opportunity came to go full time, I would apply.
On the car ride to work, what do you listen to?
Anything but commercials. Could be talk radio, Rock, Country, or anything but commercials.
What was the very first job you ever had?
I got my first job when I was 14. I delivered newspapers on my bicycle every morning at 4:30am.
What about your new position is most exciting for you?
I am excited to work with adults that are career bound, not students that are only worried about graduating.
What is one thing you’d love to accomplish in your first year at Green River?
In my first year, I would like to iron out the bugs that come with a new building, and have a seamless transition from the previous instructor to me, the new instructor.
What three accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?
My Children: Carter (6), Beckett (3 ½) and Roslyn (2)
If your coworkers were to give you an office nickname, what would that be? Why?
Many people know me as “Suberdave”:
Suber: I love Subaru’s, and I am active in the Subaru community.
Dave: That’s my first name.
For Green River’s annual talent show (this doesn’t actually exist), what hidden talent would you showcase for everyone?
I have no hidden talents.
