We’d like to take a moment and recognize our newest employees to Green River. Please take a moment to learn more about them, in their own words.
Please tell everyone your new title and a little bit about your professional background.
Hey, everyone. I’m your new evening custodian. Some of you will recognize me from the college lunch room. I have been told I make a mean breakfast burrito. This is my first non-cooking job in a while. I’m looking forward to a new opportunity.
What drew you to apply to Green River?
I know some staff members from my time in the kitchen, and they recommended it.
On the car ride to work, what do you listen to?
Sports radio. I have to keep up on my Seahawks.
What was the very first job you ever had?
McDonald’s. It definitely was not my favorite job, LOL but it taught me a lot.
What about your new position is most exciting for you?
I have been cooking for many years, and I felt like I needed a change. It’s also a better job for me and my family. I get to see my girls off to school. It’s great to have that time with them before work.
What is one thing you’d love to accomplish in your first year at Green River?
I want to show I’m a hard worker. I want to grow in the company. That I know will take more than a year.
What three accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?
- Winning a state title in my senior year – Skyline High 3A football champs.
- Graduating high school.
- Becoming a father. They’re my world. That, and marrying my wife.
If your coworkers were to give you an office nickname, what would that be? Why?
I think Batman. I’m a huge Batman fan! – Since I was 5 years old. I have been called that in the past.
For Green River’s annual talent show (this doesn’t actually exist), what hidden talent would you showcase for everyone?
I will be totally real with you. I have none LOL.
If G.R.E.E.N. were an acronym for something, what would each letter stand for?
