Introducing the NEW GreenRiver.edu – by Allison Friedly

Dear Campus Community,

It is my pleasure to finally share the work of the Web Team, (joint staff from both IT  and MarCom) and introduce you to the newest iteration of GreenRiver.edu (Beta Version 1.0). The new website is the culmination of work done by the Web Team, the Web Advisory Committee, and Green River College students.

New Green River College Website

The Web Advisory Committee shaped the look and feel of the site. As a group, they were determined to ensure that the site was accessible for students, as well as easy to navigate. One of the primary goals of this team was to ensure that students could reach the information they needed with a minimal number of clicks to get there. This talented group employees were able to provide unique insights about the website from the work they do with our students, throughout the College.

Thank you to our Web Advisory Committee members:

  • Diane Anderson
  • Lady Ivory Boyd
  • Lansing Bryan
  • Patsy Cadwell
  • Aaron Casad
  • Amanda Clifford
  • Jacquelyn Easley
  • Irina Feshchenko
  • Sarah Dillon Gilmartin
  • Rebecca Jarvis
  • Nancy Kremer
  • Chase Magliocca
  • Heather McCurdy
  • Marc Milsten
  • Inja Parker
  • Tina Ostrander

The website has been a seven-month project, completed by our skilled Web Team, without assistance from outside web firms.

Thank you to our incredibly talented Web Team:

  • Joseph Becker
  • Brian Chan
  • Philip Denman
  • Michelle Fujimoto
  • Peter Gudmunson
  • Richard Hill
  • Kim Olsen
  • Julie Spires
  • Catherine Ushka
  • Anthony White
  • Matt Witwicki
  • Qiong Wu

I would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to our students! The site would not have been possible without the their help in testing and providing valuable feedback on site usability and appearance.

On the bottom of each page of the new site, you’ll find a two buttons. If you find any broken links or find any formatting issues, please “Report a Bug.” We’d also love to hear what you think about the new site, so be sure to “Send Feedback.”

The Beta site will be a working site—in that we’ll continue to add features and make it more robust—until the full launch of the site in October, 2017. The Beta site gives us the opportunity to test design and usability, in a real-world context. We can use the information we gather to make the new site better, before it becomes the primary Green River website.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Happy Surfing!
