Please tell everyone your new title and a little bit about your professional background.
Educational Planner in the Running Start Office.
I received my master’s degree in Student Development Administration from Seattle University in June 2018. During grad school I worked within the College of Education in graduate admissions and alumni engagement. I’ve also worked at Tacoma Community College within student engagement, orientation at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and undergraduate admissions at the University of Washington, Tacoma.
What drew you to apply to Green River?
As a community college graduate myself, I have a love for community colleges and serving that specific student population. What drew me to Green River was the recommendations from current/former staff and students based on their positive experiences!
On the car ride to work, what do you listen to?
I love listening to Podcasts! Podcasts I am currently listening to are NPR, Code Switch, and Food for Thought.
What was the very first job you ever had?
The first job I’ve ever had was working at Jamba Juice, but I’m definitely more of an Emerald City Smoothie fan.
What about your new position is most exciting for you?
I’m really excited to work with students and learn about all the resources on campus to support them!
What is one thing you’d love to accomplish in your first year at Green River?
One thing I’ve love to accomplish in my first year at Green River is to get a photo with the Green River mascot, Slater.
What three accomplishments are you most proud of in your life?
- Being the first in my family to graduate from college.
- Rescuing my first dog, Leslie Knope
- Earning my master’s degree
For Green River’s annual talent show (this doesn’t actually exist), what hidden talent would you showcase for everyone?
I am a great back-up karaoke singer!
