We’d like to take a moment and recognize our newest employees to Green River. Please take a moment to learn more about them, in their own words.
Please tell everyone your new title and a little bit about your professional background.
My new title is Foundation Development Specialist. Prior to this position, I worked at Virginia Mason Foundation, Nordstrom, and stayed at home with my daughter who is now eight years old.
What drew you to apply to Green River?
There are quite a few reasons I applied. I was hoping to build on past development experience and the thought of doing that in support of local college students and faculty was very exciting for me. Some GRC community programs were already on my radar, especially GRCF’s ICA Art Docent program. And, when I learned about the honey bees, I was in.
On the car ride to work, what do you listen to?
NPR for news or I shuffle music on my 15 year old IPod.
What was the very first job you ever had?
My first job was a sales clerk at Nicholson’s Drug Store in downtown Sumner, WA.
What is one thing you’d love to accomplish in your first year at Green River?
It is hard to pick just one thing, but overall, I’d like to learn how best to prioritize my tasks and simplify processes (when possible) so that I can spend time getting to know our donors and support our team.
