Pacific Islander Heritage Days

As many of you may or may not know, April is recognized as Pacific Islander Heritage Month.  To celebrate, you are cordially invited to the First Peoples (also known as First Nations) at Green River’s event, “Pacific Islander Heritage Days.”  On Thursday, April 30th, First Nations will be presenting an Island Fashion Show from 12:00-1:30 pm and an Island Culture Showcase from 6:00-8:30 pm; both events will be located in the LC’s MDA.

The Island Fashion Show will consist of participants modeling cultural and traditional wear from various indigenous and Pacific Island countries.

The Island Culture Showcase will involve performances from various: high schools, colleges/universities, and renown organizations in the PNW, and members from the Green River and South King County community.  Performers identify Pacific Islander struggles and success through numerous acts: beautiful singing, dancing, acting, spoken word, poetry, and more!  There will be: great company, free food and overall a fun-filled experience!

Come out and learn more about the Pacific Island cultures!  Did I mention these events were FREE?  You don’t want to miss out!  For questions or further information, please contact Kasanita Vaea.

Until next time, keep stylin’…ISLAND STYLE!
