Tutorial – Adding Photo to Your Outlook Profile

Have you noticed that some employees display a photo in Outlook? This is just one way you can personalize your inbox and establish a connection with others, even before you meet them. This quick step-by-step guide will walk you through the process.

Step 1: Log Into Outlook Web Access

For some reason the profile photo (otherwise known as an avatar) does not allow you customize it directly in Outlook. That means you’ll need to open up a web browser and log directly in Outlook Web Access (OWA) for your Green River account.

Step 2: Click on Avatar Image

Next, you’ll simply need to click on the avatar thumbnail on the top-right of your OWA window.

Step 3: Click on Change Link

We’re almost there! Click on the “Change” link to continue.

Step 4: Click on Folder Icon

This new popup window allows you to upload your own photograph. To begin, click on the blue and white folder icon (highlighted above). You’ll then browse your computer to find the desired image. Once you choose your image, simply click the “Save” button to continue.

Step 5 – Open Outlook (not Outlook Web Access)

This is the final step. You’ll now need to open the Outlook application from your computer. It will take a moment or two to download your new avatar from OWA. While this is happening go ahead and compose a new message to yourself. Send the message and you’ll see your new image displaying just like in OWA.

Congratulations! You’ve just personalized your inbox in just five steps! Now go brag to all your coworkers and show them how easy it was.
